Strength Training 101 FAQs
Below are four commonly asked questions (and answers) that can help you understand the benefits and logistics of Strength Training 101:
Do I need any prior weightlifting experience?
No. Strength Training 101 is designed for beginners. We’ll walk you through foundational lifts, proper form, and safe progression so you can build confidence from the ground up.
What should I wear or bring to class?
Wear comfortable workout clothes that allow free movement, along with supportive athletic shoes. A water bottle and a small towel can help keep you hydrated and comfortable.
How often should I attend Strength Training 101?
Two to three sessions per week is a good starting point. This allows your muscles time to recover between workouts, helping you progress safely while minimizing soreness.
Will I get too bulky if I lift weights?
Generally, building very large muscles requires specific, high-intensity training and nutrition. Strength Training 101 focuses on foundational lifts, muscle tone, and proper form, which usually results in a leaner, stronger physique rather than excessive bulk.
